Camp David is “a caring, compassionate community with a common goal of giving hope to families of prisoners! They firmly believe in extending grace and value to the families they serve.” In addition to running summer camps for prisoners’ children and a week for foster children, Camp David offers programs as My Club after school mentoring in the Rolla area, family retreats and others.
“Camp David’s objective is to break the cycle of generational incarceration through hope and opportunities for families of prisoners. Year after year we serve an average of 225 children, which is about 130 families in the state of Missouri. What a joy to watch our students begin to do well in school, and lead their siblings in finishing high school and going on to college!” ~ Camp David’s Website http://campdavidozarks.org.

Coyote Hill Christian Children’s Home is “A Safe Place to Be a Child,” yet we are so much more than that.
Coyote Hill’s target population is abused and neglected children between the ages of 6 and 14 upon placement. We will take children outside of this target age range if they are part of a sibling group. Our homes serve both boys and girls, which allows us to care for co-ed sibling groups within the same home. Our focus is to serve sibling groups, children who are disrupting consecutive traditional foster home placements, and children moving back into family/community settings from more structured intensive care facilities.
The typical child placed at Coyote Hill has multiple problems, multiple placements, and is severely vulnerable and at-risk. Our holistic approach and longer-term environment allows for our services to correctly identify disorders and problems, while allowing us to implement concrete change within these children.
Children at Coyote Hill benefit from a positive educational atmosphere, adequate access to health care, quality food and good parenting, exposure to a Christian foundation, and many other aspects that we call our Success for Life Program. Our children have the opportunity to witness the value of a positive, family-focused environment. Children who are at the highest risk for abuse and neglect usually live in families where the parents were also abused as children. Without this positive intervention, the cycle of abuse is likely to perpetuate to the next generation. We work hard each and every day to break those vicious cycles of abuse and replace them with future cycles of success – success as spouses, parents, employees and members of our communities.
Our 24-hour a day, complete and professional program is carefully structured to meet the specific and individual needs of every child at Coyote Hill Christian Children’s Home.
Yes, we are “A Safe Place to Be a Child”…and so much more.
